Filters

Fuel filters are critical to the power and efficiency of your Case IH application equipment.  The life of your fuel filter is directly dependent on the quality of your fuel source. Case IH recommends replacing the fuel filters after the first 100 hours of operation, and each 250 hours thereafter.  This is just a recommendation for the maximum allowable limit. The environment in which you operate may dictate more frequent service.  See your owner’s manual for full details.

Case IH fuel, air, hydraulic and oil filters were specifically engineered for Case IH equipment.  Each filter has a micron rating.  The micron rating dictates the individual filters ability to filter out a specific size of foreign material or contaminant. All filters are not created equal, even when cross referenced from a local supplier of filters. In the case of the fuel filter, a filter with a smaller micron rating can starve the engine of needed fuel resulting in poor performance and requiring the primer pump to run overtime, the net result, catastrophic failure. In the past 20 years I have seen several units sustain significant damage from the use of after-market filters. Engines and hydraulic systems are not cheap to repair.  Although the factory filters may cost a bit more, they insure that with the proper maintenance schedule, you application equipment will provide efficient and reliable power when called upon.
